STRATFORD, P.E.I. – The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Winter Fundraising Concert Series continues this Sunday as hosts Treble with Girls welcome first-time guest, singer Taylor Johnson.
From Vernon River, Johnson has become an integral part of the traditional music scene as a singer, guitar and bodhran player at local sessions, dances, pubs and concerts. He performs regularly at the Old Triangle Irish Alehouse in Charlottetown and the new Copper Bottom Brewing Company in Montague where his repertoire of traditional and maritime songs along with the steady, rhythmic percussion he adds to fiddle tunes, has won him a place as an audience favourite.
The QEH show’s family friendly afternoon of music gets underway at 2 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Hall, 145 Startford Road in Stratford. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 draw and a homemade lunch served at intermission.
Funds raised by the concert series are in support of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation. The weekly shows are presented by Cardigan Bearing & Steel and Cardigan Feed Services.
