STRATFORD – If laughter is the best medicine, then audience members will be in perfect health after the next installment of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Winter Fundraising Concert Series happening this Sunday in Stratford. Special guest, storyteller and funny man Dennis “Denny” King, will be the featured performer for the Jan. 28 show, which starts at 2 p.m.
At birth, King was given two gifts that he treasures more than anything in the world. First, he is blessed to come from a long line of talented storytellers. Secondly, he was fortunate to have been born in the beautiful town of Georgetown, a town full of unique characters and where a good sense of humour is a prerequisite for citizenship.
Presented by Cardigan Bearing & Steel and Cardigan Feed Services, the popular concert series, hosted by Treble with Girls, raises funds for the QEH Foundation to aid in the purchase of medical equipment.
Along with entertainment by some of the Island’s most talented entertainers, the concerts include door prizes, a 50/50 draw and a homemade lunch served at intermission.
The venue is Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Hall, located at 145 Stratford Rd. Admission is by cash only at the door and all ages are welcome.
