Cape Wolfe native Michelle Arsenault, who writes under the name Mima, has not let the dust settle as she whips out her eighth book, “The Devil is Smooth Like Honey.”

The sequel to “Always be a Wolf” that was published in May, follows in the footsteps of fictional character Jorge Hernandez.

“Jorge is very charming, I describe him as having a Hollywood smile and he tends to win people over this way,” explained Mima. “But for those who he can’t win over, he tends to be somewhat intimidating, domineering and very direct. He’s a smart guy, and always playing close attention to people around him.”

According to Mima, the dark and edgy read takes a stab at controversial topics that include the pharmaceutical industry.

“I did some research regarding Mexican culture, since the main character is from Mexico, as well as the drug cartels, legalization of pot in Canada, since that came up in the story, too,” she said.

“The book moves quickly, and actually that’s why I am currently working on a continuation. I just had too much material for one book because it moved so fast.”

Mima is an “Indie” writer who is killing it as self-publishing, and her fans reach as far as Australia.

The first book she penned, “Fire”, was published in 2010, and is general fiction. But The “Devil is Smooth Like Honey” is far more of a gritty adult read that skillfully digs up murder, mayhem, and romance.
