It’s almost show time for students at Parkside Elementary School in Summerside as about 80 students prepare to take the stage in "Disney’s Aladdin Kids".
“It’s a condensed version of the Broadway musical, but is based on the 1992 Disney film we all know,” explained Alexandra Arsenault, the school’s music teacher.
Students from kindergarten to Grade 6 classes comprise the cast along with 80 other students who worked on set design and painting, about 11 in the stage crew and a dozen Parkside volunteers.
The main cast are all excited to get on stage and showcase their hard work at a new venue, said Arsenault.
"This is the first time one of our shows will be performed outside the school. We’re taking it to the College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts Centre. They’re all really excited to perform in a state of the art facility."
Curtain drops at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17 and Friday, May 18. Tickets are available through the College of Piping.
