STRATFORD, P.E.I. A 12-year-old Stratford girl who gave up her birthday party to host a fundraiser for mental health has launched an online auction.

The Guardian ran a story recently on Ellen Carragher who is hosting a skate at Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown on Feb. 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Admission is by cash donation at the door or by making an online donation at www.facebook.com/mentalhealthfundraiser.

She has also launched an online auction which will remain open for bids until midnight on Feb. 18.

They started with the goal of raising $2,000 but the value of everything so far is close to $7,000.

Auction items include gift certificates to local businesses, jewelry, handbags, a road trip to Moncton and a week’s stay at Fripp Island in South Carolina.

The online auction is being hosted at www.32auctions.com/Ellensonlineauction.

People are asked to register right away. No credit card or payment information is required. Bids are made in good faith. Winners will be contacted by Ellen’s team for payment and item drop off.
