VICTORIA, P.E.I. – The Victoria Playhouse will present folk powerhouse The Small Glories in concert on Monday beginning at 7:30 p.m. The Small Glories are Cara Luft and JD Edwards, a dynamic duo hailing from Winnipeg Man.

A self-professed “study in contrasts,” Luft’s folkie yin proves a perfect match for Edwards’ rocker yang.

Luft and Edwards joined forces purely by accident for an anniversary show at Winnipeg’s West End Cultural Centre. These two veteran singer/songwriters immediately established a buzz around their tight harmonies, authenticity, visceral live performances and equally well-matched guitar prowess.

Their abilities as both strong lead and harmony singers, their shared history of growing up singing in musical families, combined with their songwriting prowess and musical chops all contribute to the uniqueness of this partnership.

Luft is the Juno-award-winning co-founder of the folk trio The Wailin’ Jennies.

For tickets to the Aug. 13 show, call the Playhouse Box Office at 1-800-925-2025 or order online at victoriaplayhouse.com.
