The summer may be over, but the Harbourfront Theatre 2017 lineup is far from closed for the season.

October started on a high note, with sold-out shows for Kendra, Bruce and Boomer’s “The Final Farewell” and for Vaughn Co. Entertainment’s “Rumours: The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute Show.”

Then the Claire Lynch Band, with the Island’s own Katie McGarry and Dan Currie, delighted the audience with their toe-tapping country and bluegrass jams.

Later that week the Swinging Belles had a full theatre of kids up and dancing for an afternoon to remember.

“October has already been a fantastic month of music and community for our theatre,” said executive director Kieran Keller.

“We’ve had local greats like Kendra, Bruce and Boomer, Nashville greats with the Clair Lynch Band and possible future greats with all those kids dancing on the stage. Who knows if some of those kids may come back in 10 years and headline themselves?”

While October isn’t quite over, Keller is already looking forward to November.

“We have a very busy month coming up. We a have a little something for everyone. Folk, history, nostalgia, Celtic, rock – I could go on.”

November will start with Buffy Sainte-Marie coming to the Harbourfront as part of the Atlantic Presenters Association and Radarts’ Canada 150 Performance Series.

“We end October and begin November with what we’re calling our Canadian Legends of Music week,” Keller said.

“We’re going to have six legendary Canadian musicians on our stage in the span of seven days – Murray McLauchlan, Ian Thomas, Cindy Church and Marc Jordan appearing together as Lunch at Allen’s on Oct. 29, Buffy Sainte-Marrie on Nov. 1 and Frank Mills on Nov. 4.”
