The question of whether the Rodd Charlottetown Hotel is haunted will be answered on Sunday, Oct. 8.

That’s when Chip Coffey, star of A&E Television Network’s “Paranormal State’’ and “Psychic Kids’’ will present “Coffey Talk with Chip Coffey’’ during the evening.

“It’s an evening that includes an emotional lecture, Q and A with the audience and psychic readings,’’ said Mike Cristello, executive producer of Vivace Creations, an event management company. “But the truly haunting part of the experience happens when Chip Coffey investigates the venue in search of lingering spirits.’’

The Canadian National Railway originally built the Rodd Charlottetown in 1931 and sits near Connaught Square, the site of P.E.I.’s most infamous and last public hanging. It is also near St. James Church, which has its own ghost story connected to the sinking Fairy Queen steamer in 1850.

“Members of the audience will have the opportunity to take part in Coffey’s search for spirits in the last portion of the show.”

Coffey’s appearance is part of the six-city Canadian tour, which includes Halifax, Moncton, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver.
