CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The UPEI Environmental Studies Society and Save Our Seas and Shores P.E.I. will present the award-winning feature documentary, “To The Ends of the Earth” tonight at 7 p.m., in Room 235 of the Robertson Library at UPEI.
Narrated by actress Emma Thompson, “To the Ends of the Earth” takes a critical look at the state of our energy system, giving voice to some of the people whose lives are most deeply affected, a news release states.
“For example, the mayor of Clyde River, Nunavut, who is concerned that seismic testing for oil will harm the marine mammals on which his community depends, and a conservationist in Utah fighting to protect the Colorado River from fracking.”
Following the screening, the film’s creator, David Lavallee, will be available for discussion via Skype.
CHARLOTTETOWN – Central Christian Church in Charlottetown will present “A Tribute to Lady Singers of Our Century” on Jan. 16. Hosting this concert series will be Judy McGregor and Joan Reeves, “Ding and Dong”, and joining them will be Jolee Patkai, Keila Glydon and Coleen MacPhee.
