New Brunswick’s Becca Schofield recognized for legacy of kindness
RIVERVIEW, N.B. – Becca Schofield’s wish for a kinder world is being honoured.
Joan Reeves, from left, Keila Glydon, Jolee Patkai, Colleen MacPhee and Judy McGregor will perform their first show of 2017 at Central Christian Church, Kent St., Charlottetown, Monday, Jan 16.
CHARLOTTETOWN – Central Christian Church in Charlottetown will present “A Tribute to Lady Singers of Our Century” on Jan. 16. Hosting this concert series will be Judy McGregor and Joan Reeves, “Ding and Dong”, and joining them will be Jolee Patkai, Keila Glydon and Coleen MacPhee.
Patkai, singer-songwriter, has released two CDs titled “Going Home” in 2012 and “Shore Rhapsody” in 2006. She preforms with a group called Treble with Girls as well as at many fundraising benefits and concerts. Patkai will be paying tribute to Loretta Lynn.
Glydon has performed with many different groups over the years singing backup harmony as well as lead with the gospel group Glory Land Express, Soul Searchers and presently Dino and the Harmonies. She has written many songs, which can be found on her latest CD “Here I am Lord”. Glydon will be paying tribute to Patsy Cline.
MacPhee, originally from Gerogetown, now residing in Stratford, has been singing and playing guitar since the age of 12. Over the years she has entered and won numerous contests and has two recordings to her credit. She will be paying tribute to Rita MacNeil.
McGregor and Reeves have been singing together for many years, and will be providing lots of humour to the show. They will be paying tribute to Anne Murray, a former schoolteacher of theirs. Also joining them will be the house band - Larry Campbell, Heartz Godkin, Brian Knox and Judy Lowe.
This is a fundraising concert for the Central Christian Church, which is located at 217-223 Kent St., Charlottetown. It is wheelchair accessible. Tickets are $10 at the door, which opens at 6:30 p.m. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
