Island girl, Norma (Hickey) Dougherty, returns with new book

Norma (Hickey) Dougherty, centre, a former Island girl, and Miss Dominion of Canada (1970) has written a memoir of her life growing up on Prince Edward Island and of fame and world travel experiences as Miss Dominion of Canada.

She also competed in Miss World, Miss Queen of the Pacific, Miss Universe and Miss International pageants.

Norma is the daughter of the late Marion and Charles Hickey from Darnley.

She was recently on P.E.I. for book signing at several Island locations.

Her book “Island Girl - A Triumph of the Spirit” is available at Coles book store in Summerside, Indigo book store in Charlottetown, and Carr’s Oyster Bar in Stanley Bridge.
