SUMMERSIDE – On Aug. 16, 1977, the world received sad news that Elvis Presley had passed away at his Graceland Mansion in Memphis, Tennessee. Many people recall exactly what they were doing when they heard the shocking news.
Known as "The King of Rock 'n' Roll", Presley changed the face of 20th century pop culture, leaving behind a huge legacy of music and movies.

Now, to mark the 37th anniversary of his passing, Thane Dunn and the Cadillac Kings celebrate the life and music of Elvis Presley on Aug. 18 at the Harbourfront Theatre in Summerside, with their new show, "Remembering Elvis".

Winner of world's largest International Elvis Tribute Artist Competition and the world's largest Elvis Gospel Competition, Dunn has been consistently selling out shows and wowing crowds around the globe. From Memphis to Las Vegas, the Moncton, N.B., native has even performed alongside Elvis's original back-up group, The Imperials, as well as co-stars from his movie days, like "Blue Hawaii" actress, Darlene Thompkins.

Dunn has an uncanny ability to make audiences feel as if they are actually watching "The King". With his Elvis-like voice and natural physical resemblance, Dunn has been referred to as "the full Elvis package."

He has all the right moves, but what makes his show even more convincing is his charismatic personality and Presley-like sense of humour. His hair and sideburns are real and so is his voice.

Dunn's eight-piece Cadillac Kings are a dynamic, high-energy group who recreate the sound of Elvis' TCB band, note for note. There is even a right-hand-man who brings Dunn water, catches his guitar and wraps silk scarves around his neck which are then handed out to a few lucky ladies in the audience Dunn has become a fan favourite on the Island having sold out his last three performances here.

The show's audience will hear popular Elvis rock, country, and gospel classics from "Love Me Tender" to "Suspicious Minds," performed with total dedication to Elvis and his legacy.

The Summerside show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available through https://secure.ticketpro.ca/?lang=en#achat_HAR18HS14.
