Impressive lineup for third Mont-Carmel summer concert

MONT-CARMEL – The Mont-Carmel Parish Hall will be alive with the sounds of music on Sunday, July 20. The third of eight shows in the Mont-Carmel summer concert series will star Roger “Co-op” Arsenault, Lina Boudreau, Amy and Rachel Beck as well as Peter Arsenault and Helen Bergeron.

The Coopérative de développement culturel et patrimonial de Mont-Carmel present the weekly concerts.

Accordion player Roger Arsenault will take the stage to perform a few enchanting melodies. This artist charms his audience with his humour and talent.

Boudreau has carved out a key role on the francophone music scene. Her career includes recording five albums, performing around the globe and lending her voice to numerous films. This artist, originally from Memramcook, N.B., has performed at international gatherings such as G7 and Francophone Summits, which gave her the opportunity to perform in Singapore, Saudi Arabia and Guinea. She has also performed in Morocco, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali and Tanzania.

She says her greatest tribute to date is being invited by Céline Dion and René Angelil to perform during the baptism of their son René-Charles. This past June, Boudreau travelled to Europe and opened for Roch Voisine during a series of shows in Switzerland and France.

Amy and Rachel Beck are a folk duo with undeniable pop sensibilities. Amy is a talented multi-instrumentalist who switches from acoustic guitar to piano or cajòn with ease during live shows. She may even break out a harmonica, banjitar, or loop pedal to mix things up. Rachel usually takes the lead on vocals, but the sisters’ voices blend and weave together in such a way that it is nearly impossible to tell where one ends and the other begins.

Peter Arsenault, the well-known fiddle player from Evangeline area, accompanied by his sister Helen Bergeron, will also make an appearance on stage this Sunday. His spirited melodies will warm up the floor for dancers Les Gars de par chez-nous (Gilbert Arsenault, Thomas Arsenault and Miguel Arsenault) and Linda Arsenault-Richards and her daughters Isabelle and Madelaine Richards.
