BRACKELY BEACH - Hosts of the Brackley Beach Fiddle and Song kitchen party series, Jon Matthews and Sheila FitzPatrick, will welcome P.E.I.'s own fiddle virtuoso, Richard Wood, to their weekly show this Wednesday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the Brackley Beach Community Centre.

Wood, one of the most impressive and gifted fiddle players in Canada, has been a true P.E.I. ambassador across the world, having performed for the Queen of England and the Emperor of Japan as well as with superstars such as Shania Twain and the Chieftens. From entertaining Canadian troups in Bosnia and Afghanistan to the playing at Lincoln Centre in New York and Epcot Centre at Disney World to being a member of the fiddle spectacle "Bowfire," Wood's favourite place to perform is his Island home in the summer.

The Brackley Beach Fiddle and Song kitchen party series runs every Wednesday until the end of August. Admission to the all-ages show is by cash only at the door with a children's rate available and preschoolers admitted for free.

There is canteen service available along with a 50/50 draw and the musicians' recordings for sale. The air-conditioned Brackley Beach Community Centre is located at 3330 Brackley Point Road.
