April 26 & 27 - Atlantic Band Fest in Halifax

May 1 - Grads must hand in their completed applications for the KRHS administered scholarships/award/bursaries to Mrs. McCarthy by 9 a.m.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Congratulations to our most recent Student of the Week – Zachary Jones.

BLAZER BEEF SUPPER

The Annual Blazer Beef Supper, a major KRHS fundraising event, will be held at Kinkora Place on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. Cost is $15 for adults and $8 for children under 12. Take-outs will be available.

KISHORA HOCKEY GIRLS FINISH SECOND

The KISHORA girls (a combined Kinkora and Kensington team) finished as runners-up in the High School Hockey Championship Game on April 14 at Community Gardens in Kensington.

JERSEY DAY ON APRIL 12

On April 12, KRHS students and staff wore jerseys to show their support for the Humboldt Broncos. We raised $600 which was sent to the GoFundMe campaign. Special thank you to Kevin Stewart and the KRHS Student Council for organizing this event.

IMPORTANT MEETING FOR GRADS & PARENTS

A student loans presentation will be held on May 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the KRHS library.

NATIONAL REMEMBRANCE DAY CONTEST WINNER

Congratulations to Grade 12 KRHS student Callie Thomson who won honourable mention in the Senior Essay category of the Royal Canadian Legion’s National Literary Contest.

2018 GRAD NEWS

The Grad Gala/Prom will take place on May 19 at 5 p.m. at Kinkora Place. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are $25 each. Thank you to Maggie Linkletter and her family for hosting the annual Grad Barbecue this year following Grade 12 exams in June. Another thank you to Payton Reeves and her family. for hosting the Grad Breakfast on graduation morning (June 22). Grad parents are encouraged to contact either of these families to help out with these events.

The 56th annual commencement exercises of Kinkora Regional High School will take place on  June 22 at 7 p.m. Student Council president Callie Thomson will deliver the salutation while graduate Liam Arsenault will deliver the valedictory.

KRHS STUDENT COUNCIL NEWS

The KRHS Student Council made a $150 donation to the Easter Seals Campaign when the Easter Seals Tour made a stop at Somerset Elementary on April 20.

Thank you to Scotiabank Crapaud for matching the profits from a fundraising bingo the band students and parents hosted in March at the Royal Canadian Legion in Borden-Carleton. Great turnout! Proceeds went towards the band trip to Halifax during the last week in April.

FINAL HOCKEY POOL RESULTS

Congratulations to Brian Dawson who won this year’s Annual KRHS Regular Season Hockey Pool. Second place went to Mitchell DesRoches while Johnny Martin finished third. KRHS Athletics would like to thank everyone who participated in our major fundraiser.
