CONGRATULATIONS, ELMER

The Prince Edward Island Home and School Federation Extra Mile Award recognizes P.E.I. teachers and/or school staff who exemplify going the extra mile - over and above the call of duty. We were very pleased to recognize our school custodian, Elmer Croken, as one of 2018 Extra Mile Award recipients. Elmer has been employed as the dedicated, much-loved custodian at KRHS for the past 27 years. Students, staff, family, and special guests celebrated Elmer with a surprise assembly on Feb. 15.

COURSE REGISTRATION FOR 2018/2019

Parents and students are invited to register for next year’s courses on March 8. We will be using the online program called myBlueprint (www.myblueprint.ca/pei) which has many features such as up-to-date information on credits the students have already completed. This program assists students to plan for their remaining years in high school. It will also allow them to explore possible post-secondary options.

Grade 9 students and their parents are invited to come to the cafeteria at 6 p.m. while students and parents in grades 10 and 11 will meet in the Computer Lab at 7 p.m. This is a great chance to learn about some course options.

SYMONS MEDAL AND LECTURE ESSAY CONTEST

The Symons Medal and Lecture Essay Contest invites P.E.I. students in grades 11 and 12 to submit an original and creative essay on the State of Canadian Confederation. Winning essayists will receive prizes totalling $2,000. Deadline is March 23. For more information visit confederationcentre.com/essaycontest.
