Staff raise $11, 300.00 for Prince County Hospital Foundation

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. - Staff at Callbecks Home Hardware and Callbecks Home Furniture and Appliances stores have worked tirelessly over the years to raise funds for the Prince County Hospital Foundation.

Fundraising activities included dress down Fridays, new candy machines in the stores with 100 per cent of profits going to the hospital, as well as a 50/50 draw.

“Staff worked hard and came up with a lot of creative fundraising ideas, which helped make the process fun. And it is rewarding to know this is going to help so many people at our local hospital,” said Duane MacDonald, owner of Callbecks.

A generous gift of $11, 300.00 was presented to Prince County Hospital Board member Paul Power, on behalf of the store staff.

“The staff at these two family owned businesses are incredible,” said Paul Power. “They have really gone above and beyond to help their hospital, carrying on a long tradition of support from Callbecks Home Hardware and Callbecks Home Furniture and Appliances.”

Staff also recently selected patient chairs for nursing areas, as well as a sleeper chair for the Maternal Child Care Unit, from the list of greatest needs of the upcoming 2018 Vital Signs Equipment Appeal.
