Self-Management and Recovery Training Expands

SUMMERSIDE – Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART) volunteer facilitators are offering additional meetings for those in recovery from all types of addictive behaviours. 

Meetings are 60 minutes with discussion and tools and strategies to empower individuals to accomplish the SMART 4-Point Program to build and maintain motivation; cope with urges; identify and solve the other problems in life; and achieve lifestyle balance in order to prevent relapse.

Meetings open the public are held: Tuesday – 7 p.m. (bi-weekly) at the Youth Engagement Centre 381 Notre Dame Street in Summerside; and every Wednesday - 6:45 p.m. at Central Christian Church basement, 223 Kent Street in Charlottetown. Weekly meetings are also held Mondays and Thursdays at Queen Elizabeth Hospital – Unit 9 and Mount Herbert Provincial Addictions Facility, respectively, for clients only.

For family and friends of those struggling with addictive behaviours, SMART has a session on Tuesdays – 7 p.m. at REACH Centre located at 223 Mason Road in Stratford.
