New year will bring renovations and new programs for Boys and Girls Club

2017 Christmas Spirit award winners announced

SUMMERSIDE – The Boys and Girls Club of Summerside is looking expand its walls and its programs in the new year.

Last week Adam Binkley, the executive director of the club, announced that they will be renovating the building to accommodate its growing membership.

He also announced the development of a new program in partnership with Gerard ‘Turk’ Gallant called the Golden Opportunities Program.

“We’re working with Turk to build a sports program for the club. We’ll be the Summerside Golden Knights,” said Binkley.

Members of the various sports team will travel to other Boys and Girls Clubs to play in tournaments and sports to promote children working together in teams and to allow members a chance to participate in sports.

Also, during last week’s gathering, the winners of the 2017 Christmas Spirit Awards were presented their prizes.

Stella Woodacre and Cayden Gallant brought home the hardware along with an array of toys and other treats.
