Maggie gets cold feet before her big day, will she get married?

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. - Maggie is getting married.

Or is she? It’s normal to get cold feet before the big day, but trouble and slapstick comedy are just around the corner when Maggie’s sister, Wanda, realizes that she knows the groom-to-be a little more intimately than a future sister-in-law should.

The Harbourfont Players take to the stage in Summerside once again this March with a performance that’s not to be missed.

“Grab your friends and come enjoy an evening of laughter and entertainment brought to you by our very own community theatre group,” said Kieran Keller, the Harbourfront Theatre’s executive director.

Harbourfront Players, Mike Ford, Shelley Schurman, and Steph Betts, rehearse a scene from the play Maggie's Getting Married, which will be performed at Harbourfront Theatre on select dates in March.

Maggie’s Getting Married is written by popular Canadian playwright Norm Foster and directed by Marlane O’Brien.

The romantic comedy tells the story of the Duncan family getting ready for their daughter Maggie’s wedding, while weaving love, family and marriage together in an entertaining way.

“This is one of the best cast shows the Harbourfront has done since Calendar Girls,” said director Marlane O’Brien. “The level of performance, commitment and professionalism is very high. And my goodness it's fun and funny!”

The Harbourfront Theatre will host the performance on March 2, 3, 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m. and as a Sunday matinee on March 11 at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets are available at the box office (Monday to Friday 12-5 p.m.), by calling Ticket Pro at 1-888-311-9090 (10 a.m.-11 p.m. Seven days a week), or online at harbourfronttheatre.com.
