Crowds flock to soak up the Christmas cheer at Trinity United Church in Summerside

Summerside, P.E.I. - Haunted harmonies, from the choir to the echoing notes of the organ, filled the walls of Trinity United Church on Christmas Eve.

Hundreds flocked to the annual Christian event for carols, readings and reflection on the timeless Christmas story.

The carol service that was held on Sunday evening, concluded under dimmed lights with the flickering of candles and the hum of the popular carol “Silent Night.”

Rev. Andrew Richardson led the candle-lighting service that symbolized the light of Christ coming into the dark world and being shared by his followers until the whole world glows with his peace and love.

The one-hour event kicked off at 7 p.m.
