Bring a little sunshine

Twelve-year-old Emilie Sunshine Hamilton, or EmiSunshine, is gearing up to take the stage at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival on July 8.

The musical prodigy from East Tennessee, U.S.A., has captured attention for her natural singer-songwriting abilities and multi-instrumental talents steeped in Appalachian music.

Hamilton has performed on “The Today Show”, at the Grand Ole Opry and The Ryman.

Though her music is described as “old-timey”, she adds her own unique blend of roots music that is equal parts Americana, bluegrass, gospel and country.

Emi says she is “So excited in our journey to Prince Edward Island to experience its red-sand beaches, explore the famous lighthouses, and enjoy all the fresh food fare the Island has to offer.”

EmiSunshine and the Rain are scheduled to perform twice on Saturday at the ninth annual Cavendish Beach Music Festival: first on the Cavendish Farms Kitchen Stage for all ages at 12:15 p.m. and on the SiriusXM Emerging Artist Stage at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
