LOWER BEDEQUE, P.E.I. – The L. M. Montgomery Lower Bedeque Schoolhouse Museum is holding its annual Blueberry and Ice-cream Social on Sunday, Aug. 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. on the schoolhouse grounds. If it’s raining, the social will be on Aug. 26. Blueberries and ice-cream will be served.

The museum will be open for visiting. Its exhibits highlight the school’s connection with the Island’s famous author, Lucy Maud Montgomery, who taught there for six months in 1898.

There will also be old-fashioned Victorian-era games for children.

All proceeds are in support of the museum’s work.
