Expect delays while travelling in Summerside

Published on August 11, 2017

The City of Summerside would like to advise the travelling public that there would be detours and delays today.

A shipment of gravel is being unloaded at the Summerside Port`s Marine Terminal today. Beginning at noon, it will continue throughout the day until completion, approximately 9 p.m., weather permitting.

People should expect heavier than usual truck traffic along Heather Moyse Drive, Water Street East, and MacEwen Road and areas of the City..

Crews are also out all over the city at various locations at various times painting street markings, replacing electric poles and trimming trees.

All of these activities will also impact traffic flow and we urge everyone to use caution when traveling throughout the entire city.

It is important to keep in mind, all fines double in construction zones.

Traffic delays while traveling through these areas are to be expected.

Detours and road closures will also be impacting traffic flow until 7 p.m. tonight.
