Acadian Museum presentation offers info on how to date an old house

The Lefurgey Cultural Centre and the Wyatt Historic House are celebrating their 150th anniversaries this year. To celebrate, Culture Summerside is calling on artists to create a visual art piece inspired by the artifacts in the Wyatt/Lefurgey collections.

MISCOUCHE – Bernard LeBlanc, a specialist in Acadian domestic architecture, will give a presentation in French at the Acadian Museum, in Miscouche, on Sunday, at 2 p.m.

In his illustrated talk, he will explain how to go about establishing the date of an old house.

LeBlanc, curator at the University of Moncton Acadian Museum, has been doing research on Acadian homes for over 40 years.

Admission to the May 21 presentation is free, an activity organized by the Sister Antoinette DesRoches Historical Committee.
