We are starting off January with a series of free business and financial literacy sessions presented by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada. Newcomers to Canada are invited to join us Sunday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m. for “Tips and Secrets Smart Canadians Know.” This session will help define and explain to new Canadians the basics of banking, credit and taxes.

Small business owners are invited to attend “Growth and Expansion: How to Best Grow Your Business” on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. This session will focus on the financial implications of growth on a business and how to analyze and plan for it.

Entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs are invited to the session “Top Five Mistakes Start-Ups Make” on Sunday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. This session will show entrepreneurs the value of a business plan and business structure and how to monitor cash flow.

On Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m. everyone is invited to a session on “Estate Planning.”

This session will teach participants how to create a plan to distribute assets during life or upon death.
