SUMMERSIDE – P.E.I. Mutual announced a special mutual rebate for policyholders at its recent annual general meeting.

The move follows back-to-back years of positive financial results in 2016 and 2017.

Outgoing President Brian MacKinley noted that the rebate represents 10 per cent of policy holders 2017 annual premiums.

MacKinley noted that this would be in addition to the 10 per cent mutual rebate (premium discount) that would continue for all policies, new or renewed, in the coming year.

Blair Campbell, the company’s new CEO, noted that being able to provide cheques back to policyholders is “mutuality at its best.” He stated that policyholders of P.E.I. Mutual share a special relationship as members of the company.

“When the company enjoys exceptional financial results, the members get to share in this success.”

In his new role as CEO, Campbell noted that he was excited for the future. He announced that the board of directors commenced a major planning initiative in 2017 that would assist the company to chart its path over the next three years.

Themed: “Looking forward for our Members,” Campbell stated that all employees have been enthusiastically engaged in the process and the board is looking forward to the process.
