Joining Quebec-based Novexco’s 108 stores under one identity

SUMMERSIDE – HMS Office Supplies in Summerside is shedding its skin and joining Quebec-based Novexco’s 108 stores under the identity: Hamster.

The switchover aims to offer a different shopping experience for office supplies and furniture, office layout consulting services and printing services. A new website will also enhance the local and online shopping experience for Island customers.

“HMS Office Supplies is very pleased to be bringing a breath of fresh air and vigor to Summerside by joining the Hamster family,” said Pierre Gallant, who was recently appointed as president of HMS Office Supplies.

“It goes against the tide in the industry and reflects our ability to constantly come up with new and ingenious solutions. You will find the same products and the same people. It isn’t a new store, it’s a facelift that will infuse our business with new energy.”

Gallant’s HMS store will act as an independent merchant of Novexco Inc.

“It isn’t an acquisition, merger or change of ownership but a new identity, one that sends a powerful message about our commitment to customer satisfaction.

“The competitive advantages of being part of the Hamster family will enable us to make an even greater contribution to the local economy and our new image will reflect who we are: a local business that offers quality service.”

Novexco is a Canadian merchant and management-owned office, technology and furniture supply company founded in 1996. Its commercial sales division serves Canadian businesses from distribution centres in Calgary, Alta., Markham, Ont., Laval and Montreal Que., and Dartmouth, N.S.

In addition to the products HMS customers are familiar with the additional 750-page 2018 catalogue will have 1,150 new products and will include QR codes for instant access to explanatory videos about many of the items. Customers will also be able to explore an expansive selection of products on the new website, www.hamster.ca.
