SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – Vice-president of the Ocean View Resort & Golf, Dallas Desjardin, was a special guest speaker at the annual meeting of Explore Summerside, the city’s tourism group, earlier this week.
He admitted that former plan for the resort and golf club weren’t the greatest.
“Let’s call it, too many cooks in the kitchen.”
But with a new management team helping out with keepings things in order, it has gotten a bit easier.
Desjardin addressed rumours that had been circling about plans for the golf club, formerly the Summerside Golf Course.
“No, we won’t be adding another nine holes to the course, because there is not enough room, and we don’t plan on putting a floating green in the ocean.”
The new restaurant that sits in front of the resort can hold about 120 people, and Desjardin is now trying to get everything in place for its opening date – May 4.
There is a problem with the Chinese chef’s visa, so if necessary, the restaurant may have to hire chefs to serve classic pub foods and drinks instead.
As for the resort, there will be 68 rooms in the hotel wing and the plan is to have it up and running in three years.
