SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – Islanders looking for full-time, part-time and seasonal employment had the opportunity to meet employers face-to-face recently.
The second of four stops for the Skills P.E.I. job fair was held at the Credit Union Place in Summerside April 11.
The fair saw 44 employers on hand, each looking to fill an average of 4-6 positions.
Nelda Praught, manager of Skills P.E.I. for Summerside and O’Leary, said the annual job fair is an important event.
“It’s a great opportunity for employers and job seekers to meet and fill vacant jobs.”
With everything from seafood processing to working in the field of aerospace, there was something for everyone.
Along with employers, service providers were also available to offer guidance for those seeking help with career-making decisions.
There were also several information sessions held at the fair regarding the Career Connect program, which allows eligible individuals to receive employment insurance benefits when they are attending post-secondary training.
