New Maritime-made vodka brand comes to P.E.I

A new made-in-the-Maritimes product hit the shelves at Price Edward Island liquor stores recently. P.E.I. is the first location outside of New Brunswick to carry Snowfox Vodka, produced by Moncton’s Port Royal Distillers.

“Our customers tell us they really enjoy having the option to choose quality, locally produced spirits,” said Marc LeBlanc, founder and president of Port Royal Distillers. “We expect Islanders will appreciate a made-in-the-Maritimes product in much the same way.”

Since its launch this past fall, Snowfox Vodka has become one of New Brunswick’s favourite spirits and is one of the top selling vodkas in its product category. According to Alcool NB Liquor sales figures, Snowfox Vodka was the most successful new spirits product launch in that province’s history.

“Unlike the variety of locally produced beer and wine, almost all of the spirits available throughout the Maritimes are produced outside the region,” said LeBlanc. “We’re very proud to make Snowfox available to our neighbours on P.E.I.”

Port Royal currently offers Snowfox Vodka in 375 mL, 750 mL and 1.14 L sizes and plans to have it available in the other Atlantic provinces and across Canada within the next 24 months.

Based in Moncton, N.B., Port Royal Distillers is a spirits producer currently employing 12 people. It currently markets Snowfox Vodka with a second label, Samuel de Champlain Vodka in final stages of production. It continues to develop new labels of vodka and other spirits such as gin, rum, whisky, rye and spirits-based coolers.
