Curley expected to play key role

CHARLOTTETOWN – The Holland College women’s soccer program has added a Prince Edward Island recruit.

Jill Curley

Jill Curley is the latest player to commit to the Hurricanes for the 2014 Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association (ACAA) season. The Summerside native and Three Oaks Senior High School graduate will be entering her first year in the practical nursing program.

Curley was a member of the UPEI women’s soccer team last year, and was a co-captain of Team P.E.I.’s women’s soccer team at the 2013 Canada Summer Games in Sherbrooke, Que.

A centre fullback, Curley is looking forward to the season ahead.

“I am very excited about attending Holland College this fall because they have given me the opportunity to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse while playing soccer, my greatest passion,” said Curley. “I am anxious to see what the next two years will bring.”

Hurricanes head coach Kris McKinnon is looking forward to watching Curley patrol the back line.

“Jill strives for success both in the classroom and on the pitch,” said McKinnon. “She has competed for P.E.I. through provincial teams, and the Canada Games and her experience will be invaluable.
