Lawless leads Kensington past United

KENSINGTON – Jillian Lawless scored twice to lead Kensington to a 5-1 win over the Summerside United Team Two on Wednesday night.

The Subway P.E.I. Under-16 Girls Soccer League (First Division) game was played at Queen Elizabeth Elementary School.

Lawless and Victoria Bond scored on penalty shots at the 16- and 35-minute marks to stake Kensington to a 2-0 lead. Cassidy Champion finished off a nice passing play in the 50th minute to extend Kensington’s lead to 3-0.

Abby Donald made it 4-0 on a pass from Abby Donald in the 66th minute, and Lawless scored again in the 74th minute.

Brett Ford spoiled the shutout bid of Kensington keeper Lyndsay Ramsay at the 88-minute mark.
