CORNWALL – The Holland College Hurricanes’ soccer teams closed out their home schedules on a winning note in the Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association (ACAA) on Wednesday night.

Kristin Wood scored four goals for the Holland College Hurricanes in an Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association (ACAA) women’s soccer game against the Crandall University Chargers on Wednesday night.
The third-place Hurricanes routed the Crandall University Chargers 10-0 in women’s action, and the Holland College men also posted a shutout – 5-0 – over Crandall.
Both games were played at the Terry Fox Complex in Cornwall.
Kristin Wood dominated the game for the Hurricanes, scoring four goals while Molly Gallant added a pair. Lindsay Shupe, Sarah MacEwen and Chelsea MacCormack also scored.
Holland College, which improved to 5-3-2 (won-lost-tied), led 6-0 at halftime.
Louis Barriault (2), Kelsey Jones, Tyler Ellis and Evan Forrester scored for the Hurricanes in a must-win game that was played in heavy rain. Holland College’s record is now 4-1-5.
The Hurricanes, Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU), University Kings College (UKC), St. Thomas and UNBSJ are all within seven points of each other and fighting for positioning in the standings. The top four teams will advance to next weekend’s ACAA championships.
The Holland College men and women will close out the regular season on the road this weekend.
