Joel Arsenault, athletic director of Three Oaks, has organized a four-team tournament featuring teams from host Three Oaks, Kensington Intermediate-Senior High School, Kinkora Regional High School and Bluefield High School.

Storm co-owner Duncan Shaw said this is another feature of having pro basketball on Prince Edward Island.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for young high school basketball players on P.E.I. to enjoy the pro experience on the Storm’s own basketball court in an arena atmosphere,” said Shaw. “I know these young players will be really excited, and I hope people will come out and share in their excitement."

Schedule

Kensington and Bluefield get things rolling at 10 a.m., followed by Three Oaks taking on Kinkora. The losing teams will play in the third-place game at 1:30 p.m., with the winning teams clashing at 3:15 p.m.

The tournament is expected to feature some exciting basketball as the P.E.I. School Athletic Association senior high rankings recently came out, and Kensington is the top AA team while Three Oaks sits third in the rankings while Bluefield is sixth and Kinkora is seventh.

Admission to the daylong tournament is free, and fans will have an opportunity to purchase Storm tickets for Sunday’s 2 p.m. game against the Oshawa Power. The Storm also hosts the Montreal Jazz on Friday at 7 p.m.
