ELMSDALE – Six teams are registered for the Westisle senior girls basketball tournament here this weekend.
The teams are split into two divisions, with the Gold Pool featuring the host Westisle Wolverines, Kensington Torchettes and Montague Vikettes.
The Gold Pool teams will play their round-robin games at the Westisle gymnasium Friday.
Meanwhile, the teams in the Blue Pool – Three Oaks, Souris and Kinkora – will play Friday’s round-robin games at the Hernewood Intermediate School gymnasium.
All cross-over and championship games on Saturday will be played at Westisle.
Westisle coach Dana Gard is looking forward to the tournament as it will be his team’s first action since the Christmas break.
Gard is hoping the Wolverines can use it to build momentum for the second half.
