CORNWALL - The Summerside Intermediate School Owls will go for double gold at the P.E.I. School Athletic Association midget AA volleyball championships here at East Wiltshire today.
The Summerside Intermediate girls will face Queen Charlotte in the gold-medal match at 1:30 p.m., while the Owls will tangle with the Miscouche Mustangs in an all-Prince County boys' final at 3:15 p.m.
The bronze-medal matches will feature the Kensington girls taking on East Wiltshire at 10 a.m., and the Queen Charlotte boys meeting Stonepark at 11:45 a.m.
The semifinals were played at East Wiltshire on Friday.
In girls' action, Summerside Intermediate swept East Wiltshire 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-17) and Queen Charlotte downed Kensington 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-16, 25-17).
On the boys' side, Summerside Intermediate defeated Stonepark 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-22, 25-13) and Miscouche won in three straight sets over Queen Charlotte. Scores were 25-23, 25-14, 25-14.
