Russia ties bronze-medal game

SUMMERSIDE -

SUMMERSIDE -- Russia has tied Canada East 1-1 in the second period of Sunday afternoon's bronze-medal game at the 2009 World Junior 'A' Hockey Challenge.

Semen Zherebstov scored from the slot, one-timing Efim Gurkin's pass past the outstretched left pad of Canada East goaltender Matt Ginn at 9:48.

Russia is outshooting Canada East 20-14 with 7:25 to go in the middle frame.
