SUMMERSIDE -- The Summerside Intermediate School Owls captured the gold medal at their own tournament Saturday afternoon.

The Owls, who went 3-0 (won-lost) in the round robin, defeated the East Wiltshire Warriors 2-0 in the championship match of the fourth annual Summerside Intermediate School Prodigy Sports girls' volleyball tournament. Scores were 25-14, 25-14.

In the consolation match, Kensington Intermediate-Senior High School edged Queen Charlotte 2-1 (19-25, 25-17, 15-10).

In the semifinals, East Wiltshire defeated Kensington 2-1 (11-25, 25-13, 15-13), and the Owls got by Queen Charlotte 2-1 (23-25, 25-22 15-13).

In quarter-final matches, Queen Charlotte swept Miscouche 2-0 (25-18, 25-15) and Kensington defeated the Summerside Intermediate 'A' team 2-0 (25-13, 25-13).
