Police release name of woman found dead on shore of the East River

Foul play not suspected in death

STRATFORD -- The body of a woman found on the shore of the East River yesterday has been identified.

The deceased is Mary Marlene Gaudet, 54, of the Charlottetown area.

Next of kin has been notified.

Queens District RCMP is following up on their investigation with the help of the coroner's office.

No evidence of trauma was found and foul play is not suspected.

The body was discovered Tuesday face down on beach near a residential area at the foot of the Mason Road in Stratford.
