SUMMERSIDE -- P.E.I.'s Mel Bernard rink from Summerside has advanced to the Canadian senior men's curling championship semi-final.
The P.E.I. rink won this afternoon's third-place tiebreaker against Saskatchewan. The final score was 5-3.
Bernard, third stone Blair Jay, second stone Douglas Simmons and lead Earle Proude now face New Brunswick in this evening's sudden-death semifinal at 7:30 with the winner advancing to the gold medal game against Ontario on Saturday at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club.
