Newfoundland's Bill Jenkins keeps a close eye on the rock as it heads for the ice during play Monday afternoon at the Canadian senior curling championships at the Silver Fox Curling Yacht Club. On the other side of the ice, teammates Sharon Levesque and Carol Patterson, with the New Brunswick rink, discussed their next move in their match-up against the Nova Scotia women as Olympic gold-winning curler Russ Howard, skip with the New Brunswick rink, was deep in thought, likely pondering his rink's next move.
And it was all business for Northern Ontario's Barbara Ward and Newfoundland's Barbara Pinsent, who signal orders to the rest of their team during Monday afternoon's match-up.
In the warmth of the viewing area all eyes were peering through the glass watching the live-action or gazing upwards at the monitors situated throughout the room. Diane Olsen quietly knitted, watching the men's rink from Alberta on the monitor, as Bette Lou Smathers watched through the glass. The women's husbands play on the team.
