At Oyster Bed Speedway tonight

Triple Crown Series

Oyster Bed Bridge -

OYSTER BED BRIDGE - The modified cars will take centre stage for the first round of the Triple Crown Series at Oyster Bed Speedway tonight.

The modified feature will be increased to 50 laps. The new format has proven to be very challenging for the three other divisions, but the modified cars should handle the feat much easier.

Track co-owner Bill Kinney says that the idea of the Triple Crown Series came from talking to the drivers.

"Almost all of the drivers wanted to race more laps," Kinney said. "So we increased the length of their regular features, and added the Triple Crown Series on top of that."

Very competitive

The modified category has been very competitive this season. Every race date has produced a new points leader. Currently, Dylan Gosbee holds the points lead after posting a two-win performance to pass Darrell Ford last weekend.

Randy Millar, who rounds out the top three, has also been very good so far this season with three wins. He is still looking for that elusive feature win, and would love to do it in the Triple Crown.

All classes of racing will be included tonight. The gates open at 6 p.m., and racing starts at 7.

Fans are reminded that the Maritime Pro Stock Tour will be at Oyster Bed Speedway on June 26.
