Introduce vice-president of business operations; lower ticket prices

SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside Western Capitals made two major announcements on Tuesday morning.

Trent Birt was introduced as the team’s vice-president of business operations during a media conference at Credit Union Place, and it was also revealed the Caps are dropping ticket prices across the board for the 2014-15 MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) season.

For example, single-game tickets will now be $20 for a family of four – two adults and two under-17 – $8 for adults and seniors; $4 for under-17, and under-3 will be admitted free. A family of four can purchase a season ticket that will work out to just $16 a game.

Adult and senior season tickets will for $189, and a spouse season pass is available for $149. Under-17 season tickets are available for less than $2 a game at $39.

It’s important to note these prices do not include HST and service fees.

Birt previously worked with the P.E.I. Rocket and Charlottetown Islanders of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He said his goal is to strengthen relationships with local business and fans.
