For Vipers at Don Johnson Memorial Cup

PORT HAWKESBURY, N.S. – Two members of the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers were named tournament all-stars at the 2014 Don Johnson Memorial Cup on Saturday.

Forward Jordan Mayhew and Dylan McQuaid received the honours.

In four round-robin games at the Eastern Canadian junior B hockey championship, Mayhew recorded nine points – five goals and four assists. One of those goals was an overtime winner against the host Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates on Thursday night.

McQuaid, who gave up three goals in 120 minutes of action over two games, posted a 1.50 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage.

The defending-champion Vipers face the Sackville Blazers in a semifinal game on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. It’s a rematch of last year’s championship game, won by the Vipers in Moncton, N.B.
