Even record at Don Johnson Memorial Cup

PORT HAWKESBURY, N.S. – The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers moved into the win column at the 2014 Don Johnson Memorial Cup on Wednesday.

The Vipers received points from 12 different players en route to a 6-2 win over the Avalon Capitals from Newfoundland and Labrador. The win evens the Vipers’ record in the Eastern Canadian junior B hockey championship at 1-1 (won-lost).

Kensington’s next game is against the host Port Hawkesbury Strait Pirates on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

At the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre, Brett Hogan recorded a game-high three points – one goal and two assists – and goaltender Dylan McQuaid made 21 saves to lead the Vipers.
