ABRAM-VILLAGE – A new team on the block captured the 22nd annual Claude Arsenault Memorial hockey tournament here at the Evangeline Recreation Centre’s J.-Leonce-Bernard Arena recently.

Mighty Ducks captain Tyler Arsenault, centre, accepts the Claude Arsenault Memorial hockey tournament trophy. Claude's brothers, Aurele, left, and Robert present the award.

The Mighty Ducks posted a 9-3 victory over the defending-champion Cluster Pucks in the championship game.

The Mighty Ducks, comprised mainly of young talent from the Evangeline area, took control of the final early, and widened their lead in winning the 12-team tournament for the first time.

They beat the Big Sticks by a score of 6-2 during the semifinals, and the Cluster Pucks eliminated the Red Wings 6-4 to advance to the final.

Several members of Claude Arsenault's immediate family were present during the final games of the tournament, enjoying the hockey and appreciating the legacy of their beloved brother that lives on through this sporting tradition.
