MacIntyre makes 33 saves in NHL debut

SUNRISE, Fla. – Drew MacIntyre of Stratford made his NHL regular-season debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night.

The 30-year-old MacIntyre stopped 33 of 37 shots directed his way in a 4-2 loss to the host Florida Panthers. MacIntyre played 58:31 and had a save percentage of .892.

MacIntyre’s busiest period was the second, when he stopped 13 of 14 shots.

MacIntyre, who was recalled when Jonathan Bernier went down with an injury, plays for the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.
