Red Wings need win to send series back to Kensington

ABRAM-VILLAGE – The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers have an opportunity to sweep the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings on Saturday.

The Vipers take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven Island Junior Hockey League semifinal series into Game 4 at the Evangeline Recreation Centre. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:30 p.m.

The Vipers, who have advanced to the league final the last 11 years and have won eight provincial titles during this run, have posted three convincing wins against the Red Wings. The scores have been 7-4, 6-2 and 8-0.

The Red Wings will be looking to snap an 11-game post-season losing streak against the Vipers, and send the series back to Kensington for Game 5 on Sunday night.

The Vipers have taken control of the last two games early on, and never looked back. Kensington built a 4-0 lead after the first period of Game 2, and scored the only three goals of the opening frame in Game 3.
