Game 3 in Kensington on Thursday night
ABRAM-VILLAGE – The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers have taken control of their Island Junior Hockey League playoff series with the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings.

The Vipers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one period on Tuesday night, and never looked back en route to a 6-2 road victory on Tuesday night. The Vipers now lead the best-of-seven semifinal series 2-0, with Game 3 at Community Gardens in Kensington on Thursday at 8 p.m.
At the Evangeline Recreation Centre, Jordan Mayhew and Adam Wight each scored two goals while goaltender Dylan McQuaid turned aside 31 shots, including all 16 he faced in the opening 20 minutes, to lead the Vipers. Brett Hogan and Logan Garnhum each added a goal and an assist while Ryan Murray, Morgan Walker, Jeremy Jollimore and Tanner McGuigan picked up other helpers.
Fidan Feta netted both goals for the Red Wings. Benji Gaudet (2), Ryan McNeill and Jarret McRae assisted.
Overall, the Vipers, who took a 5-2 advantage into the second intermission, outshot the Red Wings 36-33. Chris Gallant was between the pipes for the Red Wings.
Referees Justin DesRoches and Jackson Doughart called five minors, one double minor for spearing and one 10-minute misconduct against the Vipers. The Red Wings received seven minors.
